If you watch TV, listen to the radio, or use Social Media, you’ve seen the disturbing amount of auto accidents recently. Some individuals have been seriously injured, some luckily walked away with only scratches and some have unfortunately passed away. Whatever the reason for the accident, these recent tragedies are a critical reminder to do what you can to ensure yourself, and those around you, are safe while one the road.
A few tips to help keep you safe on the road:
- Drive defensively. This means you are aware of the drivers around you, and can make adjustments to your driving to avoid accidents.
- Get plenty of rest so you are not driving drowsy, or if you become drowsy, pull off the road immediately and rest.
- Don’t text and drive. This also applies to any distraction while driving such as talking on the phone, playing with the radio, distractions from other passengers, along with texting and driving. Avoid them all!
- Obey all traffic laws such as stop signs, speed limits and wearing your seat belts. They are laws for a reason and are in place for your safety and the safety of everyone on the road.
