With Halloween over we now move into…Christmas season! Yes we still have Thanksgiving to get through but for most, now’s the time to start shopping for Christmas gifts. Some enjoy this time, some dread it. Between gifts, decorations and food this season can really drain the bank account. There are a few steps you can take to make the most of your money and relieve some of the stress this season brings.
-
Establish a dollar limit for each person, and stick to it.
-
Shop online – many retailers offer special deals during the holidays and may offer free shipping. You’ll save gas from running store to store too.
-
Use cash whenever possible to avoid hefty credit card bills come January.
-
Consider getting another seasonal job around the holidays. Many companies need extra help for the busy holiday season and it may be an easy way to make extra cash.
-
Try to make some of your gifts. For many, receiving a home made gift is more touching then receiving something store bought.
While we can’t guarantee there won’t be any stress, we hope these tips will help reduce the stress and let you enjoy this holiday season.
